We choose the best, very fine-grained French barrels, selected in a tasting of more than 40 different samples. Barrel ageing extends over 62 months (more than five years) and after oak ageing is completed, it remains for a period in a small concrete tank with constant homogenization to combine all the tannins. Once bottled, it rests in the underground bottle cellar for more than nine years. Intense. Medium-bodied ruby red. A small amount of colour precipitates due to its long bottle ageing.
Aromas & Flavours: Aromatic intensity and a great deal of complexity. Upon first nosing it displays a torrent of spiced oak, liquorice sticks, black pepper and tobacco. These are followed by still powerful notes of very ripe black fruit and a light touch of pepper roasted in a wood oven. Its glycerine texture - both creamy and robust - envelopes the palate and transforms into silkiness and harmony on its passage through the mouth. Very long on the finish, the aftertaste is a delight, regaling us with the flavours and aromas of a very special wine.
